New
studio furniture stockpiled in what will become Production 1 studio.

More
furniture in Production 1, August 2007. |

Renovations and improvements being made to the room which will
eventually become On-Air Studio 2.
As part of these renovations, KRTU didn't just update its existing
studios, we added new studios and dramatically increased our
capabilities, making every "production" studio potentially an on-air
studio as well, and vice versa. |

On-Air Studio 2
renovations and custom furniture were completed by October 2007.
Wquipment installation was delayed as we focused on the main On-air
studio, but all systems were working by February 1, 2008.
All broadcast operations
were conducted from this studio during KRTU's Spring 2008 fund drive,
demonstrating KRTU's new "studio switching" capabilities.

On-Air
Studio 2 completed and ready for use, a DJ's Eye View.

Thanks to
the new equipment, training Trinity students on how to be an on-air host
is faster and easier than ever.

 |
Another bonus from the
renovation was the creation of KRTU's first Isolation Studio, a place to
conduct round-table discussions or off-air interviews. The studio
can be linked to any On-Air studio for live broadcast (as it was during
the Spring 2008 Fund Drive), or function independently as a basic audio
production lab.

 |
The Production 1 studio
saw a dramatic transformation as part of the renovation. What was
formerly a staff office, then a limited audio production lab was
converted to a fully-integrated production studio with On-air
capabilities. We were also able to add additional work stations to
give our student managers their own offices, computers and
organizational space. Next to the main On-Air studio, this room is
the workhorse of KRTU.

A look at some of the
student manager work stations, mail center, and bulletin-wall.
Students are an integral part of KRTU, and giving them a home within the
studios is a great benefit to everyone. |
